Ironman Canada
Competing in an Ironman is a perfect example of a way to tackle challenges with patience, resilience, and consistency.
Before crossing the finish line, one must arrive at the start line. Months of training and sacrifice are required to successfully complete this race.
Living with type 1 diabetes, Sebastien Sasseville is doubly challenged when training for an Ironman: the challenge of managing his diabetes on an hourly basis during extreme physical activity, and the challenge of performing at a high level.
After completing Ironman Arizona in 2009, Sebastien competed in Ironman Canada 2010 in British Columbia (Canada). Despite difficult weather, he improved his time considerably finishing 65th out of 234 participants in his age category.
Next step: Ironman Canada 2011 on August 28, 2011. This year’s goal: break the 11 hour mark and get as close as possible to qualifying for the world championships in Hawaii. A living proof that challenges make you stronger.
